Start Right For Your Best Day Possible
Recent polls show that many most of us not only sleep with our phone charging next to our us overnight but that we also reach for our phone first thing in the morning – even if it’s just to turn off the alarm – but then we find that we’re engaged with it i.e. we’ve seen that there are messages on the screen, we start thinking about what’s been sent to us, what this could mean plus what are those overnight news headlines too and all of sudden you’re into “external stuff” – head buzzing like someone’s blown the start-line whistle before you’ve barely woken up.
And then you’re up – messages read, what am I doing today, what am I wearing, where am I going, who am I meeting, where am I tonight – the list of things to do and think about is endless…
So, how do we stop in this modern world and take a break or even take back control of the apparent demands made on our time?
Would you be surprised if I said that we set ourselves up to live like this even before we get out of bed?
Sound interesting?
First thing in the morning is the most important time of day – in fact the first hour is. We can’t stop ourselves thinking – that’s what our head is supposed to do – but what if I told you that if you choose your thoughts and set your intentions at this time of day, your foundations will be set for the rest of your day.
Not dissimilar to how we think about organising our daily activities, setting your intentions first and foremost when you wake-up can be far more effective in helping achieve not only your daily plans but also and – perhaps far more interesting – is this will dictate how you’ll feel about achieving these plans i.e. you can get things done with more ease, comfort and skill than you’ve ever realised and, better still, you can also find yourself being more calm, relaxed and appreciating all that you’ve achieved plus have more time to yourself.
